Artist's Application
Valhalla Fields is more than just a music venue. It's main stage sits nestled under the tall pines of Poland. It's fields are dotted with sheep and it's air is filled with the smells and sounds of the summer solstice celebration. Valhalla Fields is a seasonal community. It brings together people from all walks of life. The artists and performers that cross our stage and fill our fields are there because they want to be a part of something so basic, yet so rare: free music, free admission and freedom of expression.
Valhalla Fields is a 2nd generation family homestead. It's fields were cleared in the 70's with the hopes that it's solitude would someday be a sanctuary for artists and musicians of all kinds in search of a place to relax, unwind and celebrate their craft without the stress of the road, the world or the biz.
Valhalla Fields has gone through many changes in the past. The one commitment that has lasted these past 10 years is our pledge to provide the community with free, quality entertainment in a low-key, family atmosphere. We accomplish this by working with local and regional artists and musicians who appreciate what we are trying to do and join us in our endeavor. No one gets paid, and no one has to pay. We open our farm to the public on the longest day of the year. We make it about the music, the Arts and the Outdoors. We ask nothing in return, but a “thank you” and a “see you next year”.
We would like to thank every one who came out to support the bands and vendors in 2008. We received good reviews from everyone involved and heard that the word is spreading through the artist circles like lightning. We have already had more interest in 2008 than ever before and expect to more than double our artisans in attendance.
